“We were beyond blessed to have Emma at our birth. After having an out-of-town doula with our first we spent most of our second pregnancy not really committed to finding a more local one. That was until my anxiety struck at 36ish weeks. I looked up places here and there but did not invest much into finding someone so last minute. That was until Emma's name came across my social media through mutual friends not once but three times. I knew we had to at least meet. The morning of our meet I felt "off" like "things might be happening" but brushed it off knowing I still had a few weeks.
From the second we sat down to chat I felt nothing but peace and I knew we would most likely move forward with Emma. Little did she know that I would be texting her a few hours later asking for her advice on signs of labor and her availability later that day to meet at the hospital. She was onboard no questions asked. She met us at the hospital while I was already in active labor and helped encourage my husband and me through the beautiful (VBAC) birth of our daughter. She picked up food for me after since the hospital kitchen had already closed and stopped by the house with soup and cookies once we were settled at home. I couldn't imagine our birth story without her and it's my favorite part to tell about our birth with our day of doula hire. Emma is the kind soul we never knew we needed(or baby maybe knew all along). If we have more babies she will be the first person I make sure to be there.”

“Where do we start? Being first-time parents we knew very little about the labor process and what to expect. Luckily, Hope was referred to us by another member of our church who had a baby girl the year prior to us. Hope was available 24/7 which is surprising enough knowing that she is a mother of 4 of her own. Hope was like family to us throughout the entire pregnancy/labor experience and even after she still checks in on us all the time. Without Hope, we may have been taken advantage of due to our lack of knowledge and might have had a totally different experience welcoming our daughter into the world. "Absolutely supportive and worth double her weight in gold! Emma was a crucial part of my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum! She came to my house to assist me with labor until the perfect time to transition to our birth center at U of M Hospital. Emma prayed with me, guided me through positions, used massage to make me feel comfortable, and placed little candles around the birth tub.
Because of Emma, my husband and I felt calm and supported - my baby's birth was quick and the experience was amazing!
Emma came with me in the OR when it became necessary for an unexpected post-birth surgery. She comforted me through those unsure couple hours by praying and talking with me and massaging my tension away during the procedure. She was absolutely heaven-sent. My husband and I loved Emma!"
